		<description>The stairs were revised when the City regraded 5th Avenue in the 1940 time period.  Unless the City agrees to give back part of Fifth Avenue to allow the stairs to be replicated as shown, its not likely a similar solution will be accomplished.

There is no record of the building to the left in the historical report prepared by the City during the 1990's landmark study.</description>

		<description>Nice find.  Does anyone know when the front stairs were changed to their current configuation, and why?   I think it looks a lot better in the classic style above, and I'm hoping they restore that in the upcoming project.</description>
