The Kingdome, Home Of The Mariners

Just about a month and a half until baseball season starts! To tide us over until March 31st when the M’s take on the Rangers, I dug up this 1979 Mariners program feature on the Kingdome. Just in case you were dying to know where injured fans (who cheered too hard) were to be taken, how many men’s restrooms there were (15), and whether or not the facility was used for a circus (yes) — well, it’s all here. Go Mariners. Click on the images to investigate.

On the “building of the Kingdome” pics you can see the Seattle Plumbing Building, which was looked at here:

I could hear the booms lying in bed the morning they knocked it down. Bastards.

  3. I like how handicapped fans are allowed to use BOTH elevators! Both of them! WOW! Thanks, Mariners. You’ve made this handicapped fan a fan for life!

Aren’t residents of King County still paying the bonds on the Kingdome until 2012? Or have they been retired.

    I miss the Kingdome. :-/

    Still paying, yup.

I say, just 8 more months until it. Sorry I just don’t share your enthusiasm for baseball, Cliffe. Although, I love hearing and reading about the riod scandals. LOL.

I came of age in the Kingdome. I have great memories and knew just about every inch of that place! Qwest is still not even close to how loud the dome used to be.
