		<description>I wonder if any garages or outbuildings in Georgetown predate the Maertens house (the 1890 residence that is mentioned above). There are a lot of garages and sheds that you can see from Georgetown alleys that sure seem older than dirt, and some of them look more like small cottages than garages. I would have bet that my garage predated my house, but it in fact was built in 1928, and is just really decrepit.</description>

There are only few houses around Georgetown which date prior to 1900..  The oldest is from 1890.  I will see about getting the photo of that one up on the historyblog for Georgetown this week.
