Seattle Panorama-o-rama No. 4
October 3rd, 2008 @ 1:00 am by Cliffe | Sorted Photo Exposure |
Though not on quite as grand of a scale as our last Panorama-o-rama, have a look at this photo taken from the top of the new Washington Hotel. It’s a nice look at various late 20′s signage and a clear view of the downtown retail core along Pine Street. Click on the thumbnail for a full inspection
it feels larger than the city does now, for some reason.
to me, anyway.
Striatic: I noticed that too. I think it’s for 2 reasons: 1. There weren’t yet any super-tall skyscrapers, so the view is unobstructed 2. In this point, there was only 30-40 years of development (after the fire), so the city had a very uniform look.

It does look vast! Does anyone know what that really tall smokestack-looking building out on the horizon is, just left of center? I guess that would be in the Capitol Hill or First Hill area.
The tall structure on Cap Hill?
Yes, that was the old radio tower when it was made of bricks.. har har.
It looks much more walkable without the gash of I-5 running between Capitol Hill and downtown.
