sent. History was made with Barack Obama being the first African-American to be elected president. The streets of Seattle, from Capitol Hill to Downtown, were flooded with people celebrating. Check out the pictures on the SLOG. I know this is a Seattle related blog, but I think this is a pretty important day and I think it is appropriate to note. And now, the only Seattle related presidential imagery I can muster.

Update: And speaking of history making, last night on Capitol Hill when the election was called Neighbors hoists large speakers atop their establishment and blasts Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.” Video here. Is this not a great country?

Historic, indeed, Tuesday night’s election! I’m still on a high from it. I whooped it up with friends in a house in Wallingford.

I must say, though, I find that Journey song to be a bit of an odd choice for people to rally around. I mean, except for the phrase “don’t stop believing,” none of the rest of that song is even slightly relevant to, well, anything! If it weren’t for “The Sopranos,” that song would still be just a track on another soft rock compilation. I think Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours” is a better choice. :)

And speaking of Neighbors, that establishment/building might be a good upcoming entry for Vintage Seattle. I think it’s going condo pretty soon . . .
