Past Post: Hotel Seattle

Even though I’ve requested no mention of the old Seattle Hotel’s replacement, I figure it’s time to face my fears. Even though the likes of Matt Wright (check out his tasty food blog aka flog) will put it in my face — here we go. Read the sordid history here and gawk here if you must. Pour one out for Hotel Seattle, gone since 1961. Click for higher-res.
But why settle for Google street view when you can re-create the scenes from Titanic or that Duran Duran video by immersing yourself this glorious VR shot from the “bow of the ship” here:

heh.. heh..
OK, I wouldn’t have taken the piss if I had known what got torn down to make that monster..
Thanks for the link love!
I met a worker at the sinking ship and he told me that under the parking lot is the old lobby of the Hotel Seattle and there was some sinage and old furniture down there. I was going to get the tour but never had the chance. That was 4 years ago. There may be something still exciting about the old place yet.
That would be so cool to see, JM!
Here’s an old photo of Hotel Seattle, looks like it was taken in 1900?

Whenever I typically need to research more information such as this I normally explore article banks and key in my search, good job with a terrific article.
