Found this undated photo, looking west
downtown toward the Sound.
Feel free to try to guess the date (I don’t have the answer though). Just a quick update before I’ m off to the airport headed back
to Seattle.

I am going to do my best guessing and say 1931.
I think it was taken from somewhere on the Smith Tower to commemorate it’s completion. So I’m guessing July, 1914.
The newest building I see in this photo is The old Bon Marche Annex (just behind the Cobb) it was built in 1911. So anytime after that.
Also Note the tower behind the Cobb building is where the Paramount theater was built around 1914-15.
I agree with Julie Anne.
I see the steeple of Third Avenue’s old Plymouth Congregational church off left of the Cobb, which was gone by 1915, replaced by the Pantages Theater. So putting the above sleuthing together, you have to be somewhere between 1911 and 1915. This could not have been taken from Smith Tower. The angle is from further east. Thanks for posting this. Great find!!
Note: I meant the church was gone, not the Cobb (obvious enoo’, but let me not be sloppy with my grammar).
