Attention Taft fans!
I know you’re out there! H ave I got
a photo for you!
I can joke about it because I am somehow loosely related to the man (or so the family story goes — no bathtub jokes please). Scope out a couple photos from the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition with Taft having a look around and a couple exhibit interiors.

Two points.
One) Those exhibits look really popular. Look at all the visitors checking out the fisheries exhibit!
Two) We should all wear top hats again.
Puttin’ on the Ritz!
During the writing of “Goodnight Eleanor” I used the A.Y.P.E. as a focal point and springboard for Nate to meet Eleanor. The Expo must have been a wonderful scene in 1909, but it was a shame that most of the buildings were only temporary for the Expo and torn down afterwards. Of course, what remained is still on the U.W. campus.
I just started posting the story on tumblr.
Thanks for the pictures!
