Wow, you have no idea how much I looked for something like this. Is it possible I get to use it in my wedding invitation?

Another vote for the original Needle design. I hate The Wheedle in the Needle or whatever that floor i's called now. I don't hate the Wheedle himself, though.

I agree, the 'needle looked much better before the addition of "The Afterthought Room".

What's with all the huge loudspeakers on the next level up? Did it play music or space age sounds during the fair? Anyone remember? (I was only a few months old at the time...)

I'd to start a broohaha in here, but personally, I liked the Needle much better before they added the lower restaurant. It looks like an egg-timer now. I was very fond of the sleek needle of my youth. And anyway, wasn't the whole point supposed to be that a space ship had landed on top of a tall platform? Having a similar-but-not-the-same kind of massing of structure down below sorta takes the wind out of that theme, IMHO. Anybody else prefer the pre-addition Needle?

No problem, Cliffe! The Space Needle is just so dang photogenic, especially back in its burnt orange heyday! I never tire of it.
