Check out the 1960′s era promotional photo of Sea-Tac Airport’ s Seattle Hyatt Hou se. I first posted about it in January of 2008. According to this 2006 PI article, it was a hideaway for Ray Charles and Bill Cosby and was the setting for the 1965 film “The Slender Thread.” Anyone reading this have any memories from this hotel ? So that’s where part of “The Slender Thread” was filmed! I did not know. I also always wondered the exact location of the house where Anne Bancroft’s character lives is situated and if that house still exists. This map states that Ballard is one of the neighborhoods where some filming took place:

The house does have a fantastic view, so Ballard would make sense. Does anyone have more specifics?
Aw, netflix doesn’t carry The Slender Thread. Maybe it never made it to DVD?
When Boeing was recruiting me out of college in 1981, they flew me here for a day of interviews and put me up in the Hyatt House for two nights. I have almost no memory of it, though, except for waking up the first morning to the sound of jet engines, and pulling back the curtain and looking out at gray skies and drippy rain and cars going by on the road to the airport (my room was on the back side of the hotel).
@DTNelson – and yet you took the job, huh? Some people are meant to be here and a little dreary weather doesn’t stop us.
Never been there but I ADORE that design.
