If nothing else, these old postcards can be used in place of a baby name book. Buford Sandquist. If your last name just happens to be Sandquist, then I think your next child just found it’s name. The other nice thing about the postcards is that you get to find out more about the state you live in. As of 2009 Silvana, Washington had a land area of 1.5 squ are miles and a population of 97. I guess Buford’s small town stayed that way. And finally, hey it’s our first erotic postcard find! Contain your excitement, people. It reads:
Seattle, Wn. Apr. 4. 09. Dear Buford: Tomorrow is your birthday and I wish I were there to whip you. Hoping you are well and a good boy. Don’t forget to visit us soon. With Love, Newton.
| 1752 — University and Exposition Grounds, Lake Union in Foreground, Seattle, Washington. |

With all the talk of illness, hospitals, quarantine… an old friend dug up a number of photos from the Providence Hospital archives while researching a project for Sabey. The second photo is a favorite of mine and quite creepy. The vignetting only adds to that. Click for higher res. I’m going to have more photos of Providence (now Swedish) Hospital very soon.
