The interior lobby onyx is a perfect match to the Moore Theater ... obviously from the same quarrey. I was not aware of any rule concerning women, but the Moore Theater originally had a side entrance to the upper balcony that was intended for
"Non-White" patrons... I am not sure how enforced the rule was.

You got it all, Morfydd. I think the ?? are "The weather here is also a little cold but I went to work this morning, but work of contract is not so plentiful here." I think this is maybe an English-as-second-language postcard from a Norwegian--just taking a stab due to the name and time period.

Apparently women were at least permitted upstairs. There's one at the far right (in the white blouse).

With punctuation added:

Well John, I spend Xmas, very nice.
I was invited out for dinner and certainly? had a good time.
We had turkey, beer, wine and lots of other good stuff.
I eat and drank so much that I wasn't hardly able to walk home.
The weather here is also a little cold.
?? I went to work this morning but work ?? contract,
is not so plentiful here.
There seems to be lots of them looking.
Yours, JA Peters
