National Pet Month: Activities For Your Beloved Pet

Every year, National Pet Month gets bigger and bigger. A time when millions of pet lovers and owners around the country come together to raise awareness of how to responsibly look after them, there are tons of events to enjoy. Not only are these fun events fun for humans, but for our furry friends too!

Over the years, the UK has been host to numerous events from dog walks to cake sales, village pet shows and vet practice open days throughout this month. With a rota that changes every year, it’s a good idea to keep up to date with what’s happening in your local area.

Bringing together professionals, businesses, schools and animal welfare charities, it’s a time where you can raise money for good causes and have a wonderful day out. With the next National Pet Month scheduled for the 1st April until 10th May 2020, you have plenty of time to get prepared.

Not only is the month for raising awareness, but it’s also a time to celebrate the bond that you have with your beloved pet. Whether you’re a new pet owner or you’ve had your pet for a while, there are a variety of pet activities that you can do with them throughout the month (and beyond that of course!).

Alongside these organised events, you can plan an exciting activity (or two or three) for your pet. To give you a headstart, here are some ideas!

Cute Yorkie Haircuts might be styled with practically any hair length. Every last bit of it rides upon the manner in which you need your pup to show up . On the other side, the shade of the hair would be the standard. The hair style immensely chooses the character of any being in fact the Yorkie.

Have Professional Photos Taken

Do you want to immortalise the bond you have with your pet forever? Then why not organise professional photos to be taken of the two of you! An extraordinary day out, you can do fun poses with your pooch, feline friend or other pet! Although this might seem cheesy, it’s a unique activity that you’ll remember forever.

Go on a Road Trip

During this month, why not get away with your pet for an unforgettable road trip? This doesn’t have to be for the whole month, or even somewhere far away. But it’s a wonderful way for you both to enjoy some relaxation! With so many dog-friendly properties across the UK, you’re bound to find one that you both will love.

Treat Them With Home Cooked Delights

Alternatively, you can create some delicious treats for them! Although they obviously won’t be baking alongside you, they can be the taste testers! If baking isn’t your thing, then you could treat them instead to some mouth-watering store-bought chews or pet food. Whether you have a cat or dog, you can find pet food that’s guaranteed to please at Barking Heads.

Visit The Dog Park

A time for them to socialise, they’ll love meeting new dogs or ones that they’ve previously met at the local dog park. Although this can be done throughout the year, National Pet Month is the perfect opportunity! Differing to their usual walking route, their face is bound to light up when you arrive at it.
